Mayasem and RINA sign MoU to support sustainable urban development in Saudi Arabia

In Jeddah, Mayasem, an organization focused on innovation across real estate, infrastructure, mobility, energy and urban planning, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the multinational inspection, certification and engineering consultancy group RINA.

The agreement marks the beginning of a high-potential collaboration aimed at supporting sustainable urban development in Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf region.

Mayasem is leading one of the Middle East’s most innovative urban projects in Jeddah, covering 160 hectares. The development includes schools, universities, a fashion district, residential areas, healthcare facilities and a shopping center. RINA will contribute its technical expertise to support urban planning and regeneration processes with a strong focus on sustainability.

A regional framework aligned with Vision 2030

The MoU reflects the shared commitment of both companies to strategic sectors such as infrastructure, real estate, energy and urban development.

The agreement establishes a framework for future cooperation in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Bahrain. By combining their capabilities, networks and technical knowledge, Mayasem and RINA aim to explore new business opportunities and deliver projects across the region.

The MoU was signed on board the Amerigo Vespucci. The vessel and Villaggio Italia, the travelling mini-expo that promotes the excellence of Made in Italy, are currently in Jeddah for the eighth and final stop of the Villaggio Italia tour before returning to the Mediterranean.

The “Vespucci World Tour – Villaggio Italia” initiative showcases around the world the culture, history, innovation, gastronomy, science, research, technology and industry that make Italy a globally respected country. The project, promoted by Italy’s Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto, is supported by twelve ministries together with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
